Sunday's Song--When God Ran
Almighty God,
The Great I Am,
Immovable Rock,
Omnipotent,
Powerful,
Awesome Lord,
Victorious Warrior,
Commanding Kind Of Kings,
Mighty Conqueror
And the only time,
The only time I ever saw Him run
Was when He ran to me,
Took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest,
Said, "My son's come home again",
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice
He said, "Son,
Do you know I still love you?"
It caught me by surprise,
When God ran
The day I left home,
I knew I had broken His heart
I wondered then
If things could ever be the same
Then one night,
I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road
Ahead I could see
It's the only time,
The only time I ever saw Him run
When He ran to me,
Took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest,
Said, "My son's come home again",
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice,
He said, "Son,
Do you know I still love you?"
It caught me by surprise,
It brought me to my knees
When God ran
I saw Him run to me
And then I ran to Him
Holy One
Righteous Judge
He turned my way
Now I know
He's been waiting for this day
And then He ran to me,
Took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest,
Said, "My son's come home again",
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes,
With forgiveness in His voice,
I felt His love for me again
He ran to me
Took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest,
Said, "My son's come home again",
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes,
With forgiveness in His voice,
He said, "Son",
He said, "Son,
My son,
Do you know I still love you?"
Oh!
He ran to me
When God ran.

Dog Days in the Dead of Winter???
Mom took this picture, she did, as my little kitty brother Toby and I were taking our nappy naps. Remember how tiny he was? Well, he's sure not that small any more, no, he's not! At 10 months, he is way bigger than our almost 17 year old kitty sister Rocky!
Mom and Alpha often have to rescue Rocky kitty kitty, they do, when he tries to "suma wrestle" with her. She just does not like that, she doesn't. Mom likens it to a toddler attacking a frail elderly lady!
Anyway, Mom says we're laying low, today. Something to do with a snow storm coming through. But when I saw a flash of lighting and heard Mom squealing with delight, I was confused. This time of year? Mom said "yes"--she knew what I was thinking, she did!
Mom just loves thunderstorms, and danced around the kitchen while I scurried out of her way. She calls it her happy dance, she does, and said the thunder and lightning makes her think of summer, her favorite season. So while we got about six inches of the white fluffy fun stuff, Mom's anticipating the sunny season!
I just want to go play and roll around in that white fluffy fun stuff, I do, but Mom says it's a white out, she did. Maybe later... . --Mister Poochie

Sunday's Song--Hear My Cry
Hear my cry O Lord
Attend unto my prayer
From the ends of the earth
Will I cry out to Thee.
And when my heart is overwhelmed,
Oh Lord,
Lead me to the Rock
That is higher than I,
That is higher than I.
For Thou hast been
A shelter unto me,
A high tower, Lord,
Against the enemy.
And when my heart is overwhelmed,
Oh Lord,
Lead me to the Rock
That is higher than I,
That is higher than I.

Sunday's Song--No Higher Calling
Down at your feet O Lord
is the most high place
In Your presence Lord
We seek your face
We seek your face
There is no higher calling
No greater honor
Than to bow and kneel before Your throne
I'm amazed at your glory
Embraced by your mercy
O Lord, I live to worship You.

Sunday's Song--Amazing Love
MY LORD, WHAT LOVE IS THIS
THAT PAYS SO DEARLY
THAT I, THE GUILTY ONE
MAY GO FREE!
AMAZING LOVE, WHAT SACRIFICE
THE SON OF GOD GIVEN FOR ME
MY DEBT HE PAYS, AND MY DEATH HE DIES
THAT I MIGHT LIVE, THAT I MIGHT LIVE
AND SO THEY WATCHED HIM DIE
DESPISED, REJECTED
BUT OH, THE BLOOD HE SHED
FLOWED FOR ME
AND NOW, THIS LOVE OF CHRIST
SHALL FLOW LIKE RIVERS
SO COME WASH YOU GUILT AWAY
LIVE AGAIN!

Sunday's Song--You're Worthy of My Praise
I will worship, with all of my heart
I will praise You, with all of my strength
I will seek You, all of my days
I will follow, all of your ways
I will give, You all my worship
I will give, You all my praise
You alone, I long to worship
You alone, are worthy of my praise
I will bow down, and I'll hail You as king
I will serve You, I will give You everything
I will lift up, my eyes to Your throne
I will trust You, trust You alone
I will give You all my worship
I will give You all my praise
You alone, I long to worship
You alone, are worthy of my praise
I will give, You all my worship
I will give, You all my praise
You alone, I long to worship
You alone, are worthy of my praise
You are worthy, You are worthy
You are worthy of my praise
Well, I'll give You all my worship
I will give You all my praise
You alone I long to worship
You alone are worthy of my praise
I'll give You all my worship
I will give You all my praise
You alone (you alone) I long to worship
You alone are worthy of my praise.

Majesty
Worship His Majesty
Unto Jesus, be all glory
Honor, and praise
Majesty
Kingdom authority
Flow from His throne
Unto His own
His anthem raise
Majesty
Worship His Majesty
Unto Jesus, be all glory
Honor, and praise

Kingdom authority
Flow from His throne
Unto His own
His anthem raise
So exalt, lift up on high
The name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify
Christ Jesus the King

Worship His Majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified
King of all Kings
So exalt, lift up on high
The name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify
Christ Jesus the King
Majesty
Worship His Majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified
King of all Kings.

Sunday's Song--Refiner's Fire
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold and precious silver
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold, pure gold
Refiner's fire
My heart's one desire
Is to be holy
Set apart for You, Lord
I choose to be holy
Set apart for You, my Master
Ready to do Your will
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from within
And make me holy
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from my sin
Deep within.

Taking a (Much Needed) Break!
I've been taking breaks off of working on uploading last-minute photos and putting pages together for my daughter's elementary school's yearbook, and doing some relaxing embroidery, instead. Oh, and blogging this! Our first deadline is February 2nd, but it's better to get it done earlier. Less stress!!!
I've been on the volunteer yearbook staff for five wonderful years, now, and love it! Sadly, this is my last year, as my baby will be graduating 5th grade and entering the middle school scene. I'm really going to miss the kids, staff, and the great group of volunteers who help put together this wonderful book of memories! I'm just hoping someone will step in as the new adviser. We already have a wonderful photographer who stepped in last year to help me with the (fun and rewarding!) work load! Thanks, Anne!!! --LKR

Sunday's Song--Ancient of Days
Ancient Of Days
Glory and Power
Be unto the Ancient of Days
From every nation
All of creation
Bow before the Ancient of Days
Every tongue in heaven and earth
Shall declare Your glory
Every knee shall bow at Your throne
In worship
You will be exhalted oh God
And Your kingdom shall not pass away
Oh Ancient of Days
Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth
Sing to the Ancient of Days
For none can compare to Your matchless worth
Sing to the Ancient of Days.

Sunday's Song--Now I Belong to Jesus
Now I Belong To Jesus
Jesus, my Lord will love me forever,
From Him no pow'r of evil can sever,
He gave His life to ransom my soul;
Now I belong to Him;
Now I belong to Jesus,
Jesus belongs to me,
Not for the years of time alone,
But for eternity.
Once I was lost in sin's degradation,
Jesus came down to bring me salvation,
Lifted me up from sorrow and shame,
Now I belong to Him;
Now I belong to Jesus,
Jesus belongs to me,
Not for the years of time alone,
But for eternity.
Joy floods my soul for Jesus has saved me,
Freed me from sin that long had enslaved me
His precious blood, He came to redeem,
Now I belong to Him;
Now I belong to Jesus,
Jesus belongs to me,
Not for the years of time alone,
But for eternity.

Sunday's Song--O Little Town of Bethlehem
O Little Town of Bethlehem
O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.
For Christ is born of Mary
And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King
And Peace to men on earth.
How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may his His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him still,
The dear Christ enters in.
O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel.

Gluten-Free Salmon Pinwheels
Mix:
8 oz Cream Cheese, Softened

Spread onto:
4 8-10" Rice Tortillas
(I doubled this and also used Spring Rolls Skin which we liked better)

4 1/2 oz Smoked Salmon, finely chopped
Evenly space on top:
16 Spinach Leaves
16 Strips Pimento (I just used olives)
Roll tortillas tightly, using extra cream cheese to seal, if needed. Wrap securely in foil or plastic wrap. Place in fridge over 2 hours, but under 24 hours. Cut in 1" pieces, and place cut side up on platter. Cover 'til ready to serve. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!!!
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14
Merry Christmas, Everyone!!! --LKR
(Minuit Chrétien)
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our friend!
Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His Gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His Name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy Name!
Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Sunday's Song--Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus
Come, Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s Strength and Consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear Desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart.
Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.

Sunday's Song--O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
In ancient times did'st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

...The Saga Continues
1) Vet gave a thumbs up on kitty's healing injured eye;
2) Van was fixed and looking wonderful thanks to Nelson's Auto Body;
3) Only paid about $22 to fill up the van--hurray!!!;
4) Poochie finally dropped a load in front of me so a sample could be taken to the vet (yes, my second trip there, today!!!);
5) The sun came out and I needed my sunglasses!!! Yesssss!!! :-)
6) Flock of wild turkeys on both sides of the road as I was driving by :-)
Much more good stuff happened that I'll be remembering tonight as I count my blessings one by one! --LKR
A Series of Unfortunate Events...
My hubby had to get to work to teach college early this morning, so I took over with the early morning routine. Tickling and being overly silly helps make things better for my son in the morning, but we unfortunately ran out of time to get out for the bus. Meanwhile, my oldest daughter ran back into the house, and, between breaths, said, "It's not my fault! The bus driver never even saw me!" She had been running alongside the bus!!!
The bus arrives at the corner at 7:00am. It's still dark, and I just can't understand why junior high and high school students who are naturally becoming night owls are subjected to early morning wake up calls.
The snow plow came through our neighborhood at 6:35, this morning. They are busy working on the main roads before this, which is more than understandable. I listened to the radio for school closings, and they were all south of us.
I got my youngest daughter up while my oldest decided her stomach was awake enough for breakfast and made scrambled eggs. My son wouldn't eat. My youngest rarely can eat in the morning because of GERD which my oldest daughter also has. Challenging, but I understand because I had similar problems.
My oldest started the car to warm up, then took Mister Poochie out in the swirling snow. After youngest left on her bus, oldest went to sit in the car, then came flying back into the house. "It's not my fault! Promise you won't get mad at me, okay? I accidentally power locked all the doors in the car..., and my backpack is trapped inside!"
I laughed and made another call to both schools, then called hubby. Unfortunately, our van is being worked on, and this is a loaner car. Hubby fortunately was able to drive over to the auto body shop, get a spare key, and drive the cherubs off to school. I am now leaving for the vets for an eye check-up for our 7 month old kitten who had an eye injury. --LKR

Sunday's Song
Together in this place of worship
Your greatness we proclaim
We stand as one in giving You
All glory and acclaim.
To You our hearts are open
To You our hands we raise
Come take the place
Of honor in our lives.
Emmanuel
Our God is with us
Prince of peace
Mighty One
The ever-living God.
See the praises of our Savior
Rise to open skies
With the dawning of redemption
Your glory will arise
For You alone are worthy
Here in Zion You are praised
Our Lord and King
Forever You will reign.
Emmanuel
Our God is with us
Prince of peace
Mighty One
The ever-living God.

Sunday's Song--We Gather Together
We gather together
to ask the Lord's blessing;
He chastens and hastens
His will to make known.
The wicked oppressing
now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His Name,
He forgets not His own. Beside us to guide us,
our God with us joining,
ordaining, maintaining
His kingdom divine;
so from the beginning
the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, wast at our side,
all glory be Thine. We all do extol Thee,
Thou leader triumphant,
and pray that Thou still
our Defender wilt be.
Let Thy congregation
escape tribulation;
Thy name be ever praised!
O Lord, make us free! Thursday, November 27, 2008
