As I'm posting this, one of the parents is feeding the three little eaglettes.
It is very windy out--you can hear the wind blowing!
Yea. He or she looks like they are sheltering the babies from the cold and wind. Just listening to the wind howling is making me cold, too!
Both parents are there, now! I watched the other soaring in the sky, then it landed on the cam, lol!! :D Nice close-ups!
The one that flew in just flew away. This is so cool! Thanks for posting!!
Talk about ruffling some feathers--that wind sure is doing that to the mama (or papa!) bird!
OMG its so windy! The mother looks like she is gonna blow away in that wind!! She is a good mom and keeping her babies warm!
this is awesome!!
While I was watching, one of the parents was up really close to the camera. Then they zoomed in on the eagle even more, and moved the camera up and down! I could only see one of the babies. I'm going to keep a tab open at work so I can watch them. (:
Now they are zooming in on a parent feeding the babies. Fish is on the menu!! I also saw something like a rodent's leg when they zoomed way in. Thankfully, even the littlest one is also getting food. (:
I spy a fly walking along the nest. Mom is back to keeping her babies warm. :-)
Mom's a bit vocal, today! Wonder what she's saying or if she's bored! Glad you have another one of these up like you did last year! It was so fun reading everyone's posts!
BTW, were you aware that the link you had posted from last year is also back to being active? Now I'm keeping tabs on *two* nests, lol!! :-)
Thanks, Patti! No, I was not aware, but was wondering if it *would* be! :-) Here's the link:

I should prob post this to the main post too, huh?! :-)
Thanks WildOne, Deb, Dora, and Anon for your comments! I enjoy reading your comments and observations, too! :-)
Oh, and Jeanne, you, too! :-)
Morning little eaglettes!! :-)
Dad just brought in more food, and mom is feeding them! :-)
Decora Eagle cam and watch three eggs hatch amazing to watch
Snow!! I see Mom, but the cam's too gunked up by the slushy snow! ): But maybe this will get rid of that smudge in the middle of the cam's lens! (:
Hey, the changing of the guards just took place, and you could see the eaglettes! And the one that was keeping the babies warm and dry is now eating at the side of the nest.
Wish I could hold an umbrella over them or something!! {:
Yuck! I'd hate to be a bird on a day like today in Iowa!
Well, they made it through the sloppy, cold, wet weather. Mom looks tired. She keeps closing her eyes. It must have been long, hard, exhausting work holding her wings up higher to shelter her babies for so long!!
Dad just flew in with some chow, and mom took off. He is feeding them. I never saw this, before, but the youngest put his head down, then squirted his duty out and over the nest!!
The largest eaglette tasted some food on his own after Dad stopped feeding them. Dad has one baby, the middle sibling, under his body keeping him warm.
Mom just flew back in, Dad took off, and Mom is feeding her babies. :-)
Mom was tucking twigs, looked like moss, and a corn husk, and then Dad flew in with a fish! Now he flew away, again. Very cool!!
I've been watching them eat. At first I only saw two and I freaked!!
Dad is naw there in the nest, too. It's fish for him. Not sure what Mom is feeding the babies. BTW, I checked their website and it says this pair has sucessfully reared 3 babies at a time a few times, already, so it looks good for these three!! :-)
it's nice and sunny for the nesting family in nj. not so for this family.
Oooooh! Dad just brought in a nice juicy fish!!! :)
Icky weather for our feathered friends, again... . ):
I Love the zooming in on the babies. They are getting so big! It was cute--one was yawning.
A windy day and looks cold, though now it's not raining or slushing like it was earlier. Mom is keeping them warm!!! :-)
One of the parents is feeding the babies, but is in front of the camera so you can't see them eating. It looks like they are eating something furry. I've only seen two of the babies at a time, today. Hope they're all okay!
I see all three--yeay!!! (:
Cute! One is feeding itself! Yes, I see all three, too!!! :-)
Mom and Dad just had a bit of a disagreement! Someone was in the others face "complaining" for a few seconds!
I saw that! But now its feeding time. IDK whats on the menu...
The babies are by themselves, right now. Amie, I think the were eating bird!!!
Wellll, I hope the eagle family had a good Resurrection Day!!! When I was watching earlier, the babies were often alone. Now, mom's with them! :-) Nighty-night, little ones!
They are napping with Mom by their side. :-). Looks overcast.
Sleepy little eaglettes all by themselves. It looks like they all have pinfeathers, now! How exciting!!! :-)
So cute--they're with mom! :)
Looks like Dad is feeding them, today. The lens looks awefully dirty, maybe because of the angle of the sun shining, but at least the sun is finally shining in Decorah!!! :-)
Mom just flew in. Dad flew out and Mom is there now with the babies. I'm guessing Mom is the one with more of a ruffled or "spiked" head feather look (Dad's looks whiter, smoother, and cleaner), and there seems to be more of a gray look around her eyes. That is what I have been using to base which is which. I know, people must think that I spend waaay too much time up here..., but honestly, I just peak throughout the day as I'm working! I keep this open all day long!
LOL Mom just took off leaving them all alone, and suddenly all three babies looked up and around and very alert. Cute!!! :-)
Mom and Dad both flew in and I swear someone sounded like a seagull, but I didn't see any of the eagles beaks open like they were talking!
Mom is now feeding them. This all has been happening within 10 minutes!!! Lots of action going on, this morning! :-)
Dad just brought in a nice sized fish. Mom is there, too! :-)
Windy, there, now... Poor little ones will be enduring yet more bad weather? }:
Either Mom and Dad brought in more dry grass, or it got blown or pulled around in the nest. I am imagining it is cold and windy and they are trying to keep the babies warm. It is windy--you can hear it! Poor babies!
Thanks, everyone, for the comments! Patti, I'm going to post a link to NOAA Weather Radio which is *very* reliable. Cloud to ground lightning is possible, they say in the detailed "Short Term Forecast".

Dad just flew in with a large fish, then flew off. Mom was there when he brought chow, and is still there with her babies. Boy, listen to that wind!
Dad just left them alone, and one of the babies is playing with the nesting materials, So cute! Looks like he/she is playing house!
Yes, Patti, that is how I am distinguishing them, too! (:
Wow, a really up close and graphic display of "eliminating" right to the side of the cam! Interesting how they bend down with their rears in the air so it shoots up and over the nest! Less mess to clean up after! (:
My, have they grown haven't they! I'm not able to comment because of commitments and deadlines, but wanted to at least note their growth size as well as the amount of feathers they are getting! :-)
I only see two babies with two fish. Where is the third baby?
See all three, now. I was worried!! Patti, I miss your comments!!
Several times, I've tried to leave a comment, but it wouldn't let me. It's amazing to me how quickly these youngsters grow up!!!
Today is very windy and it looks overcast. Earlier this morning, they were eating fish! :-)
Everything is leafing out after all that rain!! The wind is so loud, I thought it was thunder!! The babies are so big, now, but still like their sleep! (:
I tried to post something the other day, and it wouldn't let me.
Patti, I just saw your comment. There must have been something going on with the blog site. I thought it was just my computer!! {:
Now the second oldest was exercising his wings!! (:
This didn't post, so I'm sending it again. It was my 2nd comment today:
Exciting--the oldest was just exercising his wings!! (:
Dad is having quite the dialog with Mom!! Now he flew off, but I can still hear him!!
Mom is busy feeding the babies. (: Think she was eating before while Dad was talking to/at her. He's still talking from outside the nest in the distance.
Now he's back in the nest with everyone, and someone else is talking!! Mom has her back to the cam, so I'm not sure if it's a hungry baby or Mom. Can't see any beaks moving!! {: Mom and Dad are now busy feeding the babies. (:
There's so much activity going on, I don't want to miss any of it!!
A baby was just speaking. It must have been the Mom talking before because it was louder and different. (:
Been watching both parents feed their babies, this morning. Freaky. I saw something moving around that they brought back to the nest then saw it was a very freshly caught fish that was still alive!
Looks like it's gonna be a sunny day for them, today, for a change!! :)
Been watching them grow with my class.
That wind is ruffling some feathers... . {:
Tunde, that's cool! How old are the kids in your class? Isn't it amazing how quickly they grow? Today, they will ~finally~ have a sunny day!!! :-) The eagle fam in NJ has had a lot more sunny days! Those eaglettes are younger than these three. ♥ 'em! :-)
Yes, Anon, and I think it's gotten winder, too! :-P
Thanks, Everyone, for your faithful comments!!! :-)
Both parents are feeding the babies fish for breakfast. The babies look to be the same size as their parents. :)
Lots of wing action going on, here, after they ate and napped. Looks like they will be fledging soon!
Great "in yur face" shots of the babies with one of the parents. Wow, that wind is loud and strong! Hopefully no one blows away!
One's preening. I only see two. The one lying down is acting strange, just occasionally moving its head back and forth. Haven't been up here in a while... . Never posted, before. Oh! Did they have any tornadoes by them this past weekend? Maybe something happened. Now I'm worried!
sAW ALL THREE! aND THE ONE LYING DOWN GOT UP AND IS MOVING AROUND NORMALLY! i SAW SOME BUGS CRAWLING ON HIS back, so maybe there were some on his face, too! Sorry for the caps! I'm honestly not shouting!
A grey, sleepy day, seems like. Those birds must be bored, too. They'll be flyin' the coop, soon, I suppose, then FREEDOM!! (: And we'll all be left wondering, and some of us worrying about these little fellas.
The other day was so windy, but I was happy to see all three of them! :-) Today, I only see two, one of which has been exercising his wings and hopping around. The cam is following him and zooming in on him. :-)
Wow, som real closeups!
I see all three!!! :-)
Yes, I saw those too, Pammie!! They got close-ups of all three, and earlier they zoomed in on a feather on on eaglette's nose--the one that had been exercising! :-)
tooooo cute! the other day we were watching them at home and one baby kept putting his face right up to the camera! i wonder if it makes noise when it zooms in and out. It looks beautiful there! I felt a little like i was going to fall out of the nest!
I thought by now they would have fledged (:
Two are facing out, looking at the world beyond the nest. The third is busily amused playing with nesting material!
Sorry I haven't commented that much. I see them, but haven't had the time to say anything. I'm so thankful for the birds eye view we have of the Decorah eagles. And the cam in NJ, as well!! :-)
Cold and windy. But they look rather curious about the world beyond the nest!! :-)
Yet another windy day in Decorah, IA!! One of the babies almost hopped on top of it's siblings a few times as it was exercising it's wings!! He keeps getting whopped by the flapping wings! Careful with those talons, Bub!
Thanks, Everyone, for your comments! :-) I just saw that they are expecting the eagles to fledge between June 11-25! :-)
Mom or Dad just flew in, then out, and all three are extremely excited. But I don't see any food... . However, two have beaks--and talons--full of nesting material!!! Hummmm. Go figure, right?! :-D
Sounds like someone's cutting down a tree near-by!
Wet eaglettes! The head of the one they have a close-up shot has lot of white under his head feathers!
Don't see all three, and don't have time to stay on to look for all three. :-{ Leza, could they have fledged since yesterday? Oh, wait--they are panning and showed all three. I don't want to miss them fledging!
Early yesterday evening, I saw three wet little eagles hanging out on the same tree limb. Today, I only see the two. Glad at least these two survived the storms, last night! Maybe the other went back to the nest.
There were two on the same branch, this morning, and now I only see the one... . And severs storms are expected. I'm going to be worried about them!! :-}
They're all grown up! Only one is left on this limb of the tree. Its be alot of fun watching them all grow up. These parents are really good. They've successfully raised several "triplets". Impressive. (:
Two are there, now! On the same branch! Where is #3??
These two survived the storms (lots of lightning and heavy rain) from last night. One was exercising its wings and jumping up and down on the branch...as a bug--think a fly!--crawled across the cam's lens!
Another storm with heavy rain is forcasted for today.
I'm not sure if they ever got those predicted storms. It did get pretty windy later in the day, however.
I did see all three, yesterday. The cam was panning and zooming in and out on the babies. One was in the nest eating, then I watched as the other two came flying into the nest from the branch they were hanging out on. They kept flying back and forth. It was exciting!! Then one flew to a lower branch just below the branch two of them had been perching in. One also flew to the side of the cam, and they panned around to it. Because of the metal hardware and such which blocked the view, you could only sometimes see the face or the wings as the baby was exercising. Very sweet!
Today, I only see the two, one on the favored branch, and the other on the branch right below it. On the left, you can see the river, and on the right you can see the white barn. Yesterday, I saw a brown and then also a white course grazing in the field by the barn.
I heard them earlier, but haven't seen them at all. I think they are gone! :'} They grew up so fast... . Wait! I heard one, but it sounded farther away... .
Two are out hanging on the limb!! :-) Looks like a sunny day for a change. The white horse is out in the field below. :-)
I see mom or dad hanging out with two of them on a different limb. Haven's seen the parents in a while.
Wow do they have the cam zoomed in! Two babies are sitting on a roof, and they got it in nice and close! :-)
WildOne, we must have been on at the same time, yesterday. Don't know if you saw, but the cam later zoomed in on the parent, and then the cam repositioned so it was a more centered shot of all three eagles--the parent and two babies.
That third eaglette must be really independent--I haven't seen him at all. Hope he's okay! I'm sure he is. Anyone else see him?
They just got brought food and I think all 3 are in the nest eating.
For a while, the cam went black before this. They also had zoomed way in on the 2 horses walking in and out of the barn!
Now, 2 eaglettes are "fighting" over something. Must be a piece of fish?
I'm so glad the cam is still up! :-)
Lots of panning with the cam. One parent brought dinner to the nest for a baby, then the other 2 flew in and wanted a piece of it. No chance. Sibling protected his dinner with outstretched wings. Parent flew to a nearby branch. Other two squaking up a storm like where's mine, then went by the branch the parent was on.
Where's the site? I only see white..
Okay, I see it, now. There is one eagle baby on a branch, but I heard another one, too. So they are still there.
Happy *first* 4th of July to this batch of America's symbol! :-)
Saw two two of them earlier this morning, now only one is hanging out on the branch they seem to favor! :-)
It's really foggy in Decorah, this morning! One baby is out on the limb. :-)
A few nights in a row, I've seen one of the parents hanging out on one of the branches near one of the babies. :-)
I still see them periodically, but I just don't look at this as often. (:
At least one is tagged with a radio transmitter on it's back. They are panning around the nest and branches and doing close ups, this evening! :-) Anyone see him getting tagged?
Hey they're all still there! I saw one of the parents perched with them before, too. Very nice. :)
