This report was fascinating! I'd love to get the book "White Deer: Ghosts of the Forest"! Jeff Richter spent a decade photographing them, and John Bates did the research and writing. A larger population of white deer reside in the Boulder Junction, Wisconsin area where they were photographed for this book.
I've seen elsewhere that people claim that a true albino deer has pink eyes..., but there are many forms of albinism. Very interesting! --LKR
Happy Resurrection Day!!! An oldie but a goodie by Don Francisco:
He's Alive
The gates and doors were barred And all the windows fastened down I spent the night in sleeplessness And rose at every sound Half in hopeless sorrow And half in fear the day Would find the soldiers breakin' through To drag us all away
And just before the sunrise I heard something at the wall The gate began to rattle A voice began to call I hurried to the window And looked down into the street Expecting swords and torches And the sound of soldiers' feet
There was no one there but Mary So I went down to let her in John stood there beside me As she told us where she'd been She said they've moved Him in the night And none of us knows where The stone's been rolled away Now His body isn't there
We both ran toward the garden Then John ran on ahead We found the stone and the empty tomb Just the way that Mary said But the winding sheet they wrapped Him in Was just an empty shell How or where they'd taken Him Was more than I could tell
Something strange had happened there But just what I did't know John believed a miracle But I just turned to go Circumstance and speculation Couldn't lift me very high 'Cause I'd seen them crucify him Then I saw him die
Back inside the house again The guilt and anguish came Everything I'd promised Him Just added to my shame 'Cuz when at last it came to choices I denied I knew His name And even if He was alive It wouldn't be the same
Suddenly the air was filled With strange and sweet perfume Light that came from everywhere Drove the shadows from the room And Jesus stood before me With His arms held open wide And I fell down on my knees And I just clung to Him and cried
He raised me to my feet And as I looked into His eyes Love was shining out from Him Like sunlight from the skies Guilt in my confusion Disappeared in sweet release And every fear I'd ever had Just melted into peace
He's alive! He's alive! He's alive and I'm forgiven Heaven's gates are open wide He's alive! He's alive! He's alive and I'm forgiven Heaven's gates are open wide He's alive! He's alive! He's alive and I'm forgiven Heaven's gates are open wide He's alive! He's alive! He's alive! He's alive!
Hallelujah! Jesus is alive Death has lost its victory And the grave has been denied Jesus lives forever He's alive! He's alive! He's the Alpha and Omega The first and last is He The curse of sin is broken And we have perfect liberty The Lamb of God is risen He's alive, He's alive! Jesus is alive!
I was taking a trip on a plane the other day, just wishin’ that I could get out. When the man next to me saw the book in my hand and asked me what it was about. So I settled back in my seat. "A best-seller," I said, "a hist’ry and a myst’ry in one." Then I opened up the book and began to read from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...
"He was born of a virgin one holy night in the little town of Bethlehem. Angels gathered ‘round Him underneath the stars singing praises to the great I AM.
He walked on the water, healed The lame, and made the blind to see again. And for the first time here on earth we learned that God could be a friend. And though He never ever did a single thing wrong, the angry crowd chose Him. And then He walked down the road and died on the cross and that was the end...of the beginning."
"That’s not a new book, that’s a Bible," he said, "And I’ve heard it all before. I’ve tried religion, it’s shame and guilt, and I don’t need it anymore. It’s superstition, made-up tales, just to help the weak to survive." "Let me read it again," I said, "But listen closely, This is gonna change your life."

And though He never ever did a single thing wrong, the angry crowd chose Him. And then He walked down the road and died on the cross and that was the end...of the beginning."
"The end of the beginning?" he said with a smile. "What more could there be? He’s dead. You said they hung Him, put nails in His hands and a crown of thorns on His head." I said, "I’ll read it again, but this time there’s more.
And I believe that this is true: His death wasn’t the end but the beginning of life that’s completed in you. Don’t you see, He did all this for you..."
"He was born of a virgin one holy night in the little town of Bethlehem. All the angels singing praises to the great I AM. He walked on the water, healed the lame, and made the blind to see. And for the first time here on earth, did you know that God could be a friend? And thought He never ever did a single thing wrong, He was the one the crowd chose. And then He walked and He died, but three days later, three days later, three days later... He rose! Three days later He rose!
You see, He came, He lived, and He died, but that was the end of the beginning.
All hail the power of Jesus' name! Let angels prostrate fall! Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all!
Ye prophets who our freedom won, Ye searchers, great and small, By whom the work of truth is done, Now crown Him Lord of all; By whom the work of truth is done, Now crown Him Lord of all!
Let every kindred, every tribe, On this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown him Lord of all; To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown him Lord of all!
O that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all; We'll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all!
Riding home from swimming lessons with the kids, yesterday afternoon, was fun. We had all run--or walked quickly--through the rain to get to our van, and were close to being soaked. (it was a long walk!) As we were driving, the sky began to brighten. I urged the kids to search for a rainbow. "Where?" they asked? "Opposite the sun," I told them.
Turning onto our street, I instructed them to look toward our neighbor's house in the back yard. My son hopped out of the van and started searching the sky. "Over there!" he cried. Sure enough, one was beginning to form. All four of us watched as the rainbow became more vibrant right before our very eyes. I don't know about you, but I never tire from witnessing this phenomena, nor of remembering why the Lord put them there!
As my youngest daughter and I headed for the house, I turned around in time to see the raindrops glistening in the sunshine. It looked like a thousand little sparkling diamonds, and thankfully I still had my camera in hand to capture the moment before this disappeared!
Then this morning, Hubby broke the news that we had gotten snow over the wee hours of morning. My oldest daughter came in to say that it was still snowing before she and her brother headed out the door before 7AM. Monday, donned in tee shirts, refusing to wear their winter jackets, they stood waiting at the bus stop in 22F!!! They sure didn't do that this morning!!! --LKR
